Experts from the GameGangsta YouTube channel compared the performance of the two builds in eight modern games.
The authors of the GameGangsta YouTube channel checked which of the two configurations of the gaming PC is better: with the RX 6400 or the GTX 970.Builds in eight projects were checked: Grand Theft Auto V, Rainbow Six Siege, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, Far Cry 6, Forza Horizon 5.All games were running in Full HD resolution.
INGrand theft auto vAt very high graphics settings, I managed to get 29 fps in very rare events with the RX 6400, and 34 fps with the GTX 970.On average, the frame rates were 37 fps (RX 6400) and 47 fps (GTX 970).
Rainbow six siegeThe average frame rate here was 168 fps with the RX 6400 and 153 fps with the GTX 970.In extremely rare events, performance was reduced to 112 and 106 fps, respectively.
Assassin's Creed OdysseyThe average performance in the game was 28 fps with the RX 6400 and 24 fps with the GTX 970, in very rare events these figures were 12 and 14 fps respectively.
INRed dead redemption 2At ultra graphics settings, the average FPS was 44 fps (RX 6400) and 34 fps (GTX 970).In extremely rare events, performance was 27 fps with the RX 6400 and 26 fps with the GTX 970.
Assassin's Creed ValhallaThe average frame rate in the project was 29 fps with the RX 6400 and 39 fps with the GTX 970.In extremely rare events, these values decreased to 12 and 15 fps, respectively.
INWatch dogs legionAt high settings, the average FPS was 45 fps (RX 6400) and 48 fps (GTX 970), in very rare events the figures dropped to 27 fps and 31 fps with the RX 6400 and GTX 970 respectively.
Far cry 6With the RX 6400, the average performance was 51 fps, with the GTX 970 – 48 fps.In extremely rare events, FPS dropped to 8 and 30 fps, respectively.
Forza horizon 5On average, the frame rate here was 36 fps (RX 6400) and 26 fps (GTX 970), in very rare events - 20 fps and 19 fps, respectively.
Conclusion
The test results were quiteambiguous. In some projects the RX 6400 video card was in the lead, in others – GTX 970. On average, FPS in all eight games was 5.45 percent higher on the 6400: 55 fps versus 52 fps.
