New build of Windows 11 now supports third-party widgets and a new feature in Teams

Microsoft in the new version of the Windows 11 build finally adds support for third-party widgets to the system

developers and new chat features in Microsoft Teams.

What is known

Third party developers can now createtest your widgets for Windows 11. Currently, this feature is available locally on the latest Insider Preview build, but it is planned to be released to the Microsoft Store later. The company says widget creation will only be available for Win32 programs for now, but will later add support for web apps as part of Microsoft Edge 108.

In addition to extraneous widgets, there are also newfeatures for Chat in Microsoft Teams. When you open Chat from the taskbar, you can view your own camera image, allowing you to clean up your look or find any camera bugs before you start. Microsoft hopes to roll out the feature to users in the coming months, but it's currently being tested among a "small subset of users." If you're a member of the Windows Insider Program, you can try running Chat from the Windows 11 taskbar to see if you're one of the lucky ones.
