Intel has confirmed that some new 13th generation processors will be based on the previous silicon.
In the past months, details about the newdesktop line of Intel Raptor Lake-S processors. It was reported that chipsets can be built on three different crystals: B-0 (Raptor) and C-0/H-1 (Alder Lake). Technically, this meant that some models of the 13th generation Intel processors would be based on older chips.
According to reports, such models will be Corei5-13600 and below. So far, only four 13th generation models from the i5 and i3 series are known: 13600, 13500, 13400 and 13100. All but the last one will have a C-0 crystal, and the last one is presumably an H-1.
Videocardz notes that this will undoubtedly affect the performance of mid-range and entry-level Intel processors and may create problems when competing with AMD Zen4 processors.
