New patented camera rotates 360 degrees and analyzes sounds

Nokia has filed a new patent for a rotating camera that will be located in a smartphone. This is unusual

idea, since we are not talking about a flip module, for example, in the Samsung Galaxy A80 or Oppo N1 models.

In a new patent document, Nokia revealsa unique solution for the camera: the module can rotate 360 degrees and will be located at the top of the smartphone. The position is changed using a small electric drive following commands from the accompanying application.

As conceived by Nokia, the camera will automaticallyturn towards the sound source. To obtain a spatial audio picture, it is proposed to use an array that combines at least two microphones.

The microphone will receive audio signals and analyze them to determine the direction of the sound source. The module will rotate depending on the direction.
