Powerbeats Pro Review

New Powerbeats Pro headphones from Beats(which is owned by Apple) can be considered one of the main products of this manufacturer over the past few years. They have truly become wireless, since the wire connecting the left and right earbuds has now been completely eliminated. At the same time, outwardly they look very familiar. Let's discuss their strengths.

Appearance — it's not just aestheticside, but also the thoughtfulness of the design in terms of fit. She's just perfect here. When the headphones enter the ear, they simply fall into place and do not slide anywhere else. The set also includes 4 sets of attachments — You will definitely find yours here. Plus, the accessory is now 23 percent smaller and 17 percent lighter. Here we will mention one more feature — the presence of headphones in a black body color, which the Apple accessory does not have. In addition, there are versions in dark green, dark blue and white.

Another achievement of the manufacturer —the ability to listen to music through Powerbeats Pro without interruption for 9 hours. Traditional Bluetooth headphones are unlikely to do this. AirPods, Galaxy Buds, Jabra Elite 65t  are left somewhere behind. Plus there is a charging case that will provide you with the ability to play music for 24 hours.

You might be surprised, but Powerbeats Prorun on the same processor as the new AirPods 2 — Apple H1. Accordingly, you can use voice commands to control the headphones. But you can also use physical headphone controls. There are buttons to adjust the volume. Also, the headphones have motion sensors that automatically put them to sleep when in standby mode.
Like the AirPods, the Powerbeats Pro have an automatic pause and resume feature if you take one of the earbuds out. Both Powerbeats Pro headphones connect to your device independently.

There are weaknesses in new items. They also need to discuss.

Large charging case

It is clear that the company Beatscalculates that users will store a charging case for Powerbeats Pro in some kind of bag; it doesn't matter if it's a sport bag or a daily bag. But you must understand that the body here is much larger than that of Apple. You can't put it in your pocket.

No wireless charging

Here's another difference — absencethe ability to charge the headphones in the case wirelessly. There is no LED indicator to show the charging status of the headphones: Apple AirPods don't have this either, so we weren't surprised. But some wireless headphones have separate LEDs that indicate the charge level of the case and headphones. The tiny round LED on the front of the Powerbeats Pro case is intended only to indicate the remaining battery charge. Checking the battery level for the headphones themselves requires opening the case next to your iPhone: a menu will appear showing the charge level of the headphones and the case.

Water protection

It is, but what standard does it meet untilno information. The manufacturer assures us that the headphones were designed in such a way as to exclude the penetration of sweat. The charging case is not waterproof, so you should wipe the headphones before putting them there after a hard workout.

Sound quality

Initial impression — positive.Good dynamic range, emphasis on bass. Completely redesigned from the inside out, the headphones feature a redesigned driver that uses efficient pressurized airflow to deliver powerful acoustic response in a small package.

Finally, I would like to note other nuances:which may be important to you. The case charges using a Lightning cable rather than USB-C. By the way, this is not the first time. For example, Beats X also uses Lightning. Therefore, if you are an iPhone owner, this is an additional convenience for you. The headphones also work fine with Android, but you will no longer be able to use the “Hey Siri” function.

Charge Powerbeats Pro fast enough. One and a half hours of playback will be provided for 5 minutes of charging, four and a half hours after a 15-minute charge.

Powerbeats Pro or AirPods?

The new Powerbeats Pro headphones are not directcompetitor to Apple AirPods. This is a completely different price category — $250 versus $159 or $200. Plus, there is no way to be aware of what is happening around you when you listen to music, since the headphones completely isolate the sound. For some this is a plus, for others — minus.

But if the AirPods don't suit you or you want noise-canceling headphones, Powerbeats Pro would be a great solution. And do not forget that at your disposal will be 9 hours of music without recharging.

The cost of Powerbeats Pro headphones is considerable —$249.95. Sales have not started yet, only in May. They are not the most expensive, but they are in this segment. For comparison, we have listed below the prices of popular headphones today so that you can estimate their cost on a scale.
