A few months ago, rumors appeared online that Vivo was working on a new concept

smartphone NEX 5, which should receivea large 6.67-inch display with rounded edges, a front camera built under the screen with a 32 MP sensor, a Snapdragon 888 processor, a 4500 mAh battery with support for fast charging and a camera with ZEISS optics. However, plans seem to have changed.

What's in your plans?

Well-known Ice Universe insider wroteon social networks that Vivo NEX 5 is not worth waiting for this year. Instead, the company will unveil its first foldable smartphone. As a reminder, the NEX Slide, NEX Fold and NEX Roll trademarks were recently registered, so the NEX Fold will most likely debut this year.

This information is confirmed by Ross Young,CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC). According to him, it will be a foldable smartphone with the largest display on the market. That is, its internal screen will be larger than that of the Mi MIX Fold and Huawei Mate X2, which measure 8.01 inches and 8.0 inches respectively.

Young also added that the device will be released in January.Does this mean that Ice Universe got the timing wrong? Most likely, the official announcement will take place at the end of the year, and sales of the smartphone will start in January. Or the gadget will be presented in China at the end of the year, and on the global market in January.
