Jaguar is a next-generation armored car designed to replace the Véhicule de l'Avant Blindé (VAB) armored personnel carriers, the AMX-10RC wheeled tanks and the ERC-90 armored vehicles.
The vehicle is equipped with automatica 40 mm caliber cannon, and an Akeron MMP guided missile is provided to destroy enemy tanks. Jaguar received protection against 14.5 mm ammunition, 10 kg explosives and 155 mm artillery shells according to the STANAG 4569 Level 4 standard.
The engine has a capacity of 5400 horsepower. According to the manufacturer, the maximum speed of the armored vehicle while driving on the highway is 90 km/h.
Nexter has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense, under which the French military has already received 38 Jaguar armored vehicles. By 2025, the company will begin supplying equipment to the Belgian army.
