No PS5 under the herringbone: Sony produces fewer consoles due to lack of components

Sony is experiencing difficulties with the production of PlayStation 5 consoles and has reduced its production forecast by

current financial year. If the company expected to collect 16 million devices between April 2021 and March 2022, now this figure is about 15 million.

Sony has publicly predicted that thisThe fiscal year will sell 14.8 million PS5 consoles, so while this is not a significant downward revision, it shows how limited supply will be for the foreseeable future. The 16 million unit figure would allow Sony to meet this target and secure additional inventory for next year.

Sony predicts 22.6 million PS5 sales infiscal year starting in April 2022, but its manufacturing partners reportedly believe it won't be easy to reach that goal. In other words, don't expect it to be any easier to buy a PS5 any time soon. Rather, the opposite is true.
