Nothing has changed: the new iPad is practically not repairable

It seems that amid the new iPhone 11, many missed the output of the 10.2-inch iPad. And here are the guys from iFixit

they have not forgotten and have already disassembled it, not forgetting to assess maintainability.

What's inside

During disassembly, specialists found 3 GBRAM - 1 GB more than the last generation. But the battery capacity, despite the increase in screen and tablet size, has remained the same, although Apple promises the same autonomy as the previous version with a smaller screen.

The pluses to the novelty were the lack of a full lamination of the display, which is why broken glass and the display will be easy to replace.

By tradition, the main drawback was the abundance of glue. Because of it, it will be difficult to replace the battery and the motherboard: they are firmly glued to the case. In addition, the Lightning port, which quite often breaks down, is soldered to the board.

Verdict

As a result, the iPad received 2 points out of 10 for maintainability. In principle, this is a common assessment for Apple tablets: last year's iPad also has a deuce and iPad Pro has 3 points.
