NVIDIA has banned laptop manufacturers from hiding data on the performance of video cards

In recent weeks, a scandal has erupted around the fact that laptop manufacturers stopped specifying indices

Max-Q and Max-P in the device descriptions: These indexes indicated a special version of the graphics card included in the laptop.Without them, the buyer may find themselves in an awkward situation by buying a device that doesn't matchexpected characteristics. NVIDIA has recommended that laptop manufacturers provide documentation with the exact specifications of the graphics card to resolve the issue. But most manufacturers didn't, and now NVIDIA has forbidden them from doing so.

The media reported that NVIDIA has begun requiring OEMs to disclose the TGP and clock speed of graphics cardsas part of laptops to users.

This should help avoid situations wherethe user buys a laptop with an RTX 3080, which has a TGP of 80W, and gets a device that is less powerful than a laptop with an RTX 3060, which has a TGP of 115W.
