NVIDIA shuts down production of GeForce RTX 2060 and RTX 2060 SUPER graphics cards

NVIDIA has decided to stop producing chips for two Turing generation video cards at once

(the year before last).

What is known

We are talking about video cards GeForce RTX 2060 and RTX2060 SUPER. The first was originally introduced in 2019, offering users 6 GB of video memory. A year later, the company announced the SUPER model, and in the middle of last year, the RTX 2060 version appeared with 12 GB of VRAM. The release was associated with a shortage of chips for Ampere cards (RTX 30) and large stocks of Turing generation GPUs.

It should be noted that the GeForce RTX 2060 immediatelyhas become a very popular graphics card among gamers. According to Steam statistics, only the GeForce RTX 1060 is the most common accelerator. The same cannot be said about the RTX 2060 SUPER, although this video card also found its buyer due to its relatively low price ($399), having won a 1.23% share on Steam

NVIDIA along with the discontinuation of supplies of GPU Turingfor the production of the GeForce RTX 2060 / 2060 SUPER asked partners to reduce the production of graphics adapters until the end of autumn. Video cards remain on sale, but the situation can change quickly.
