Officially: North Macedonia is going to transfer Mi-24 attack helicopters to Ukraine, some of them have been upgraded and received new avionics

What is known

According to the Minister of Defense, the General Staff of North Macedonia has approved the supply of helicopters. Now this must also be done by the country’s parliament.

In total, North Macedonia has 12 in service.Mi-24 helicopters. They were purchased from Ukraine in 2001. By the way, some of the helicopters have undergone modernization. It was handled by the Israeli company Elbit Systems. The helicopters are adapted to work with NATO forces. They received new avionics that allow the use of night vision goggles and the Aviators night vision system. Also, modified versions of the Mi-24 were equipped with a modern navigation system, infrared lighting and other improvements.
