We are talking about IRIS-T air defense. These are short-range air-to-air missiles equipped with a cooled infrared homing head. By the way, at the moment this is the most modern air defense system that Germany has in service. Using IRIS-T, you can repel attacks from combat aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, rocket artillery, drones, anti-radar missiles and bombs.

Unfortunately, Scholz did not disclose the number of installations and delivery dates.

Let us remind you that today the United States also approved the supply of HIMARS MLRS to Ukraine. Thanks to them, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to hit targets at a distance of up to 80 km.
