Older iPhones learned to shoot video from multiple cameras simultaneously

In September, during the presentation of the new iPhone 11 family, Apple representatives highlighted one of the possibilities

cameras of new smartphones - shooting video simultaneously on several modules using the FiLMiC Pro application. Now, this feature has finally become available - only through another application.

What is it

The camera was taught to shoot video from everyone at the same timemodules: wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle, telephoto (only in Pro versions) and front. As a result, you can choose a convenient angle and edit a suitable video. But this only works through third-party applications.

After the presentation of the iPhone 11, it became known that this is one of the new features of the iOS 13 operating system, and together with the update, other models will receive it.

How it works

Today, smartphones finally get this feature. The list includes iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, as well as last year’s iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and even iPhone XR. In the case of the latter, shooting is carried out simultaneously on the front and one of the main camera modules.

True, this does not work through the FiLMiC applicationPro. Its developers have released a new program, DoubleTake, which is absolutely free. The multi-camera shooting mode will also appear in FiLMiC Pro, but later.

The new application is very easy to use: select the cameras from which you will shoot, the frame rate from three options (24, 25 and 30 frames per second), set the focus, and go ahead.
