Experts explained that when a user reducesbrightness of the screen, it begins to flicker at a certain frequency. The lower the brightness, the more pronounced the screen ripple. This causes your eyes to become tired. Gritsenko noted that flickering is invisible to the human eye, but it can be seen if you point the camera of another smartphone at the screen.
The expert advises using the device onmaximum brightness or close to maximum if your eyes get tired of the OLED screen. There are also dedicated software solutions such as DC Dimming on Android and White Point Downgrade on iOS. If you use them, the screen almost completely stops flickering. However, color rendering suffers.
