OmniVision also pays special attention toOV50H video capability: The camera supports 4K@120fps as well as 4K@60fps with HDR. It also supports 8K video recording with image rebuilding right on the sensor. The OV50H also received an advanced QPD autofocus system: phase detection autofocus on a 2x2 pixel array, working at 100% of the sensor area. Compared to the Dual Pixel, this system delivers faster, more accurate focusing, as well as faster focusing in low light, according to OmniVision.

Shipments of the OV50H to manufacturers will begin in April;most likely, the first smartphones based on it will appear no earlier than summer. Which smartphones will receive this sensor is still unknown; Previously, top-end OmniVision sensors were used in Lenovo Legion gaming smartphones, Motorola flagships (X30, S30 Pro), Huawei P50 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra.
