On iPhone 6S, the “Hey Siri” function will always be active

In iOS 8, Apple  introduced the “Hey Siri” similar to Google Now, which could work without pressing a button

Home. However, this function only worked when the device was charging. Apple probably did this because of problems with the phone's battery life.

AppleInsider reports that iPhone 6s and iPhone 6sPlus, which is expected to be unveiled in less than 24 hours, will be presented with the "Hey Siri" feature always active. The function will be very useful while driving a car.

It is not yet clear whether this feature will be available on other iOS devices, since in the latest iOS 9 beta update this feature did not work without connecting the device to a power source.

Since we do not expect that the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6sPlus comes out with some kind of major battery improvement, it's entirely possible that Apple will make this feature available at least for devices that were released last year.

If you've jailbroken your device, you can enable the always-on Hey Siri feature by installing the free UntetheredHeySiri tweak.
