On the flagship Huawei Mate 30, you can install Google applications. But they do not work

As we wrote earlier, yesterday Huawei introduced the flagships of the Mate 30 family, which became the first

manufacturer's smartphones without pre-installed Google services. Journalists personally checked whether it is possible to download these applications yourself and how they work.

However, not everyone is so lucky. Alex Barredo tried to install Google Play and YouTube on his smartphone: he succeeded in downloading them, but after installation they did not work.

Other journalists add that in the company'sThe App Gallery store, which has become an alternative to Google Play, does not have many popular applications such as Dropbox, Uber, Slack, Spotify, eBay, Strava, Tinder and Netflix.

What they say at Huawei

After the presentation, Huawei DirectorConsumer Business Richard Yu said that the new models run the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), an open source version. The EMUI 10 shell is installed on top.

But Huawei still hopes that the sanctions will be lifted soon. As soon as this happens, the company promises to send updates overnight to the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro with Google services and applications.
