On the verge of life and death: Huawei goes into “combat mode” due to US sanctions

As we wrote earlier, yesterday the US authorities extended the grace period for cooperation between American companies

with Chinese Huawei for another 90 days - until November 19. Afterwards, Huawei founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei spoke with his employees and announced reforms to survive the crisis.

Combat mode

The head of the company did not skimp on metaphorsand motivated employees to work harder. According to him, Huawei is on the brink of life and death due to US sanctions, so it gathers all its forces and goes into “combat mode.”

This means that production equipmentwill expand to ensure continuity of supply after the end of the US license, and also plan to focus on “the most competitive products.”

In addition, unnecessary positions will be cut, and ineffective managers will be demoted or even fired. Therefore, employees are encouraged to actively implement the sales plan.

“The company found itself on the brink of life and death. Если вы не можете работать, уступите место нашему танку. А если вы согласны выйти на поле боя, вы можете привязать верёвку к танку и вытащить его за собой — вот такой настрой должен быть у каждого», — подчеркнул Жэнь Чжэнфэй.
