OnePlus drops record support for OnePlus 11R (Ace 2)

At the end of last week, information appeared on the Internet that OnePlus had confirmed record support for

system 4/5 (4 years of Android updates and 5 generalsupport) for OnePlus 11R (aka Ace 2 in China). The other day, the company went to Gizmochina, where it reported that there was a misunderstanding within its team and support on social networks gave incorrect information regarding the timing of support. The correct ones look like this: 3 new versions of Android and 4 years of security patches. This means the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1-powered OnePlus 11R will end up with Android 16, down from Android 13 at launch.

Thus, OnePlus 11 will remain the only onebrand smartphone with premium support. Whether it will be extended to the OnePlus 11T, which is still expected at the end of 2023, given the refusal to support the 11R, remains a mystery. To recap, OnePlus 11R is only available in India, Ace 2 – only in China, while OnePlus 11 represents the brand worldwide. Perhaps this explains such differences in terms of support. However, that’s not bad either.
