Opel turns the 70s Manta A coupe into an electric car

Opel has announced the electric sports coupe Manta GSe ElektroMOD.

What is known

The new product is a modern version of the classicOpel Manta A model, which was produced from 1970 to 1975. Under the hood of the Manta GSe ElektroMOD, engineers installed a 108 kW (147 hp) electric motor that produces 255 Nm of torque. According to the manufacturer, it is capable of accelerating the new product from a standstill immediately in fourth gear. The Manta GSe ElektroMOD has rear-wheel drive and a manual transmission. The car is powered by a 32 kWh battery. The declared range is up to 200 km. The car is charged from the included 9 kW wire. Charging time is approximately 4 hours.

Among the interesting things about the new product, it is also worth noting its futuristic appearance with retro elements, as well as the Pixel-Vizor panel, which replaces the radiator grille. You can display text and animation on it.

When to expect

Opel has released the Manta GSe ElektroMOD as a one-off model. The car is not planned to be put into mass production.
