OPPO extends software support, but there are two catches

The speed with which Samsung is rolling out updates to Android 13 has impressed not only users, but also

visibility, competitors.OnePlus recently announced an increase in software support for future flagships, and now parent OPPO has made a similar statement. This applies specifically to future flagship models of 2023, which are now announced to have four major ColorOS updates and five years of security patches.

Edition of the Android Authority, to which OPPO andannounced a new update policy, notes the slippery language that does not oblige the Chinese to release 4 Android updates: OPPO may well release one or two versions of ColorOS without switching to a new version of Android - a fairly common practice among Chinese brands. In addition, the owners of the flagship models Find X5 / X5 Pro and the recently presented Find N2 and N2 Flip, which also run the risk of remaining with the old support periods, are in an unpleasant situation.
