Chinese manufacturer OPPO announced today its under-screen camera technology at the MWC exhibition in Shanghai.
How they did it
To create such a camera, the company had touse a special customizable module with a translucent surface to allow light to enter. However, such a combination is not enough to produce high-quality images. Therefore, OPPO engineers also resorted to improving photos using algorithms. For example, the HDR function and increased white balance. The technology is still not perfect, but today it is the best solution to get rid of sliding mechanisms, cutouts and holes in the screen.
