Over 40,000 accounts banned in Dota 2 for cheating

Valve has confirmed that it has recently banned more than 40,000 Dota 2 player accounts that used

malicious software to gain an advantage in the game.speech could access internal information used by the Dota client that was not visible during gameplay.

Although the company does not specify what datawere used by attackers, some players speculate that one of the benefits may have been receiving an alert when the player was in an enemy zone. Some of the players used the software even at semi-professional levels, which allowed them to win matches.

But it seems that Valve's technical team did notice the activity of cheaters, and all their accounts were deleted. So far, this is the biggest purge in the game since its inception.
