Pentagon: new aid package will include precision-guided projectiles that the US has not previously sent to Ukraine

Yesterday, US President Joe Biden signed a decree on the allocation of a new $400 million military aid package to Ukraine. The US Department of Defense said what would be included in this package.

We are already waiting

So, Ukraine will receive something that the United States has not previously sent - 1000 high-precision artillery shells of 155 mm caliber.

"This is a new type of 155 mm artillery ammunition,— said a senior official of the Department of Defense during a briefing at the Pentagon. - He has more accuracy. It offers Ukraine a precise… ability to hit specific targets. It saves ammo. It will be more efficient at the expense of accuracy. This is a further development of our support for Ukraine in this battle in Donbas.”

These projectiles are intended for use inhowitzer artillery systems already available in Ukraine. They are used by the US military and are in their own warehouse. The systems are new in that the US is sending them to Ukraine for the first time.

Recall that the new aid package also includes four additional HIMARS MLRS, ammunition for them, tactical vehicles, explosive ammunition, battery system counters and spare parts.
