Phone scammers began to call Russians 10 times more often

But according to the director of strategic projectsInstitute for Internet Research Irina Levova, the estimate that scammers call 10 times more often is incorrect. She believes that IP protocols have been used for fraud before.

The trend was:after the start of the special operation in Ukraine, the activity of telephone scammers decreased by 42%. This became possible due to the fact that in the spring Russian banks began to actively subscribe to the services of telecom operators to prevent voice fraud - fraud. But now scammers are on the rise again.

In this regard, the FSB and the Prosecutor General's Office will strengthen the checks of telecom operators, in particular, for non-compliance with the requirements for the passage of foreign traffic.
