The transplant took place in January 2022.In the first weeks after the operation, the patient's condition improved, but on the seventh week, acute heart failure developed, and signs of organ rejection appeared. Unfortunately, the patient died after 60 days.

Now the scientists who led the operation have publisheddata on the electrical activity of the pig heart in the human body. It turned out that already on the first day after transplantation, the observed ECG was different from that of the pig. Other indicators have also changed.

In general, the patient's heart showed signs of a diseased human, not a healthy porcine.
