Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 all: Google is phasing out two of last year's smartphones

Google recently introduced the Pixel 5a smartphone and announced the flagships Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, a full

the presentation of which is expected in the fall. At the same time, the manufacturer quietly discontinued two old models.

Who are we saying goodbye to?

More precisely, not very old models - we are talkingabout the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 smartphones, which debuted less than a year ago. A Google representative confirmed to Digital Trends that the Google Store is currently selling out of stock of these models, after which they will disappear from the range.

“Based on our current forecasts, we expectthat the Google Store in the US will sell the Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 in the coming weeks after the launch of the Pixel 5a (5G). "The Pixel 5a (5G) is a great option for customers, offering valuable hardware upgrades over the Pixel 4a (5G) at a lower price," a Google spokesperson said.

According to the report, this will also apply to markets outside of the US where Google officially sells Pixel phones.

At the same time, the regular Pixel 4a will remain on sale as an inexpensive entry-level model.
