Google finally unveiled the Pixel 7 series on Thursday. The regular and Pro versions also support the feature.
On the Pixel 7, this feature is limited because it's not a full 3D face recognition system.
Before Face ID, Android already existed2D face unlock, but this feature could often be fooled with a photo. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro have a more advanced version of face unlock, but it's still not as secure as Face ID.
In addition, the Face Unlock functionality only allows you to unlock the phone, while Apple Face ID can be used for authentication within applications and not only.
It should be noted, however, that Google has addedmachine learning capabilities into the Pixel 7 selfie camera to improve face unlock functionality. But this is still not enough to enter applications (maybe the functionality will be improved with subsequent updates?).
