Play as you want: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for consoles will receive keyboard and mouse support

Even after the announcement of the updated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward announced that gamers with PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC will be able to play

together. Now the developers have revealed new details about cross-play.

What is known

On the PlayStation Blog, design director Joe Kecotsaid that the selection of players for the match will be based on the management method. So, if you play on Xbox One with a gamepad, then you may be thrown in with PS4 gamers or PC users with controllers. At the same time, Modern Warfare allows you to use a keyboard with a mouse on PlayStation 4, but in this case the player will be pitted against PC gamers and the like.

"We'll also add support for a variety of peripherals, so if you want to connect a keyboard [and mouse] to your PS4, the game will allow that," Kecot said.

Note that the blog does not talk about keyboard support for the Xbox One, but Microsoft allowed playing with a keyboard mouse on its console back in 2018.

Players with different control methods maybe thrown into one match only if a gamer with a keyboard mouse takes a friend with a controller into the group. In addition, after the start of the battle, the game will not allow you to change the control method. So you won’t be able to fly around with a gamepad and then switch to a keyboard and mouse and dominate.

We also remind you that beta testing of Modern Warfare will take place on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in September, and you can find out the schedule from the previous news.
