Water Resistance Test

Responsibility for Powerbeats Pro water testOne foreign blogger took it upon himself, and he kindly shared his observations and results with others. It’s worth noting that previously some Powerbeats 3 users complained about headphone malfunctions due to exposure to sweat, so we decided not to delay testing the new Powerbeats Pro.

IPX4 water and sweat rating means thatPowerbeats Pro can withstand splashing water for at least 10 minutes. This is a pretty good indicator for headphones, given that sweat buckets do not flow for a long period with an athlete.

As part of testing, it was simulatedseveral scenarios: splashing water, a stream of water and even prolonged immersion in water. So here are some details on what's been done with the new Powerbeats Pro.

  • Imitation of falling in the kitchen sink with strong splashes of water.
  • Powerbeats Pro in the shower for a few minutes to simulate heavy rain.
  • Powerbeats Pro short plunge into the toilet.
  • Immerse Powerbeats Pro in a one-minute water bowl.
  • Immerse PowerBeats Pro in a bowl of water for five minutes.
  • Immerse Powerbeats Pro in a bowl of water for 20 minutes.

What do you think the results were?Quite convincing. After each scenario, the sound coming from the Powerbeats Pro was first muted. But after the water was removed, the headphones sounded normal again.

Wireless headphones Powerbeats Pro weatheredall tests for water. The sound has not changed, the buttons continued to work, charging was also in order. This suggests that Powerbeats Pro does indeed have excellent water resistance compared to Powerbeats 3 and must be sweat resistant.

Despite passing the water test,We do not recommend that you shower with Powerbeats Pro, use them in the rain, swim with them, or otherwise expose them to high humidity. Even with waterproof protection, water resistance can deteriorate over time, so it's best to keep Powerbeats Pro as dry as possible.
