The launch took place at 07:45:05 Moscow time from the Baikonur Cosmodrome: the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle was successfully launched with the Progress MS-16 transport cargo ship.
Already after 8 minutes 48 seconds, the normal separation of the ship from the third stage of the carrier was recorded, after which the solar batteries and antennas were revealed.
The ship will have to dock to the Pirs module of the Russian segment in the morning of 17 February.
The launch vehicle will deliver to the ISS:
- 600 kg of refueling fuel,
- 420 liters of drinking water,
- 40.5 kg of compressed gases with additional nitrogen reserves,
- About 1 400 kg of various equipment and materials,
- Repair kit for crack sealing on the ISS.
