PS4 in flight: Call of Duty Modern Warfare will be released only on Xbox One and PC

The remake of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has not yet reached release, but has already encountered problems.

believe StopGame, then Activision canceled the openbeta testing of the updated Modern Warfare on PlayStation 4, but only in Russia. According to a studio representative, Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe was unable to provide support for the “beta” in the Russian Federation. At the same time, “plans for open beta testing on Xbox One and PC remain unchanged.”

“Unfortunately, due to unforeseencircumstances, we confirm that Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe will not be able to support open beta testing of the online game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in Russia. We regret this situation, but respect Sony's decision. However, our plans for open beta testing on Xbox One and PC remain unchanged. The beta test will be available to players on these platforms from September 19 to September 23, 2019,” wrote an Activision representative.

Moreover, Call of Duty:Modern Warfare has already disappeared from the Russian PlayStation Store, and, according to the store's support (via DTF), will not return to virtual shelves. The game will not be removed from sale in the Xbox store or Battle.net yet, but details are being clarified. Gamers who have already purchased Modern Warfare on PS4 will receive a refund.

In Ukraine, beta testing of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will go according to plan, and the game can still be pre-ordered on the PlayStation Store:

Playstation 4

  • For pre-order owners: from September 12 to September 13.
  • Open Beta: September 14th to 16th.

“Beta” for testing cross-play between PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC:

  • For owners, pre-order on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC: from September 19 to 20.
  • Open beta on all platforms: September 21st to 23rd.
