Scientists analyzed 58 randomizedcontrolled studies of more than 10,000 people with chronic low back pain. They investigated the effectiveness of three treatment approaches - standard exercise, individualized care, and CBT.
Standard routines with physical exercisesinclude activities such as Pilates. With individual care, a set of exercises for the patient is developed jointly with the health worker. CBT is a talking therapy aimed at changing a person's thoughts and behavior.
Studies have shown that when CBT was combined with personalized care, treatment efficiency was 84% higher than with the standard method alone.
