Qualcomm is preparing a 7-nanometer Snapdragon 735 processor with a built-in 5G modem

Qualcomm recently introduced three new mid-range processors. The company won't stop there.

is being assembled and is already preparing another 700 series chipset.

What is known

Journalists from the publication Suggestphone sharedphoto of a document with the main features of the Snapdragon 735 SoC. Like the top-end Snapdragon 855 processor, the new product is built using a 7-nanometer process technology. The chip will have eight cores with 1 + 1 + 6 clusters. They are all of the same series (Kryo 400), but with different clock speeds. The first core is 2.8 GHz, the second is 2.4 GHz, the remaining six are 1.8 GHz.

The new platform will receive a graphicalAdreno 620 accelerator (750 MHz) supporting screen resolutions up to QHD (3360×1440), wide color gamut and HDR10/HDR10+. In addition, the Snapdragon 735 SoC will be equipped with a built-in 5G modem. If this information is confirmed, then the first mid-budget smartphones with support for the fifth generation network are just around the corner.

When to expect

Presumably, the processor will be announced at the end of this year. The first devices based on it should be expected at the beginning of 2020.
