Qualcomm will again complicate the naming of Snapdragon mobile processors

In 2021, Qualcomm made the naming of parts of mobile processors simple and understandable. But soon

the naming scheme will again become complex.

What is known

It would seem that everything was fine.Flagship chips are called Snapdragon 8 Gen X, mid-range processors are called Snapdragon 7 Gen X, and models for cheaper smartphones are called Snapdragon 6 Gen X and Snapdragon 4 Gen X. Although Qualcomm sometimes causes confusion, for example, with the release of the Snapdragon 782G.

In the near future, processors with P and T indices will appear in the Qualcomm assortment. For example, Snapdragon 7 Gen 2T and Snapdragon 7 Gen 2P. This is reported by insider @heyitsyogesh.

Heard that Qualcomm plans to introduce a multiple SKUs with ‘P’, ‘T’, etc. branding in the Snapdragon CPU family, such as the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2P, 7 Gen 2T

Don't think they should move forward with this naming scheme, it will just make things more difficult.

Interestingly, the American chipmaker switched tonew naming scheme not for fun, but because the previous one was complicated. But as you can see, Qualcomm is not looking for easy ways and will again complicate life for everyone.
