Qualcomm will split production of 4nm Snapdragon 895 chip between Samsung and TSMC

While smartphone manufacturers are stocking up on the new Snapdragon 888 Plus chip, Qualcomm is already working on the next one

So, according to the source, Snapdragon 895 will hit the market in two versions: regular and Plus. The first should be shown in December, and the second in the summer of 2022.

Both chips will be built on 4nmtechnical process, but their production will be carried out by different companies. The Korean manufacturer Samsung should be responsible for the Snapdragon 895, and TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) should be responsible for the Snapdragon 895 Plus. Interestingly, both companies compete with each other and usually Qualcomm turned to one of them, but not this time.

Let us remind you that the Snapdragon 895 series of processors is coded SM8450. The new products are credited with Kryo 760 cores, an Adreno 730 video accelerator, and a Snapdragon X65 5G modem.
