Quite another thing: Nvidia showed Quake 2 with RTX support

Game developers are still not in a hurry to add support for RTX technology in their projects. So what is Nvidia

I decided to add the ray tracing myself to the fan-based mod for Quake 2.

What it looks like

In Quake 2 RTX, in addition to advanced lighting,High resolution models and textures taken from the Quake 2 XP project are used. Also added support for Nvidia Flow for the effects of fire, smoke and particles. Compared with other fan-made crafts, Nvidia's mod looks much neater and more natural, especially in dynamics. But with the addition of RTX, the game loses its zest and acquires a completely different atmosphere. We seem to be in an attraction under the open summer sky, and not on a planet choking with pollution. So, as a demonstration, it's good, but connoisseurs would rather prefer the OpenGL version.
