Ramen soup is used as fuel in Japan

The president of the transport company, Masuma Nishida, came up with a way to use biofuel for trucks - he

consists partly of leftover ramen soup broth. To do this, the researchers mix fat from ramen with fuel made from waste vegetable oil.

Several trucks of the company are already working onAll 170 Nishida Shoun vehicles are planned to be transferred to this fuel by September. The company notes that this is an effective alternative to petroleum diesel fuel and another way to reduce human impact on the climate.

Nishida developed a device for separatingbroth that can be placed in the kitchens of ramen restaurants. The researcher also came up with a way to remove certain elements during processing so that it can be mixed with biodiesel fuel made from waste cooking oil.

The company now buys leftover ramen from about 2,000 restaurants and uses it to produce around 3,000 liters of fuel per day at its plant.

“In the beginning, I did not have any knowledge in the fieldchemistry, everything went by trial and error. But my development came out at a time when environmental issues are becoming a big problem, ”said Nishida.
