IO Interactive promised to add ray tracing to Hitman 3 on PC with updates after the game's release. Now
What is known
A blog post appeared on the official Xbox website,in which IO CTO Maurizio de Pascal praises the Xbox Series hardware and confirms the arrival of “ray tracing” on Microsoft’s next-gen console.
“It's great that the Series X|S GPUhas a technical solution for ray tracing. We have already started working with this technology for rendering in the Glacier engine and, as soon as we decide that we are completely ready, we will definitely present the result on Series X|S,” says Pascal.
At the same time, IO Interactive has not yet confirmedthe arrival of ray tracing on the PlayStation 5. Most likely, the version for the Sony console was not remembered due to the specifics of the marketing material, but the developers have not yet mentioned the PS5 on other social platforms. Therefore, for now, only PC and Xbox Series owners should count on ray tracing in Hitman 3.
Notably, the Xbox version of Hitman 3Series X is still superior to the PlayStation 5 version. According to Digital Foundry tests, the game runs in native 4K on Microsoft's console, while Sony's console only outputs 1800p. At the same time, ultra-textures are used on both devices.
