
Raytheon Missiles and Defense has been awarded a contract to manufacture and supply the AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missile.

The deal was officially announced on the websiteUS Department of Defense. The contract amounted to $1.15 billion. Work will take place at the Raytheon Missiles and Defense plant in Arizona until January 31, 2027.
As part of the Foreign Military Sales program, missilesAIM-120s will be delivered to Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Canada, Great Britain, Qatar, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Norway, Singapore, Spain, the Netherlands, the Republic of Korea and Switzerland.
The countries listed above account for 39%contract value. Also, the American company will supply AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles to the US Air Force and Navy. Note that the contract was issued for the 37th lot (Lot 37).
The number and type of missiles is not specified.The most modern version of AMRAAM is the AIM-120D. It is equipped with an active radar homing head and can hit targets at a distance of up to 180 km.
