The radar from Raytheon will be installed on the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system. Radar development
Raytheon is due to collect six innovative radars for Patriot by 2022. The value of the company’s contract with the US military is not disclosed.
Patriot anti-aircraft systems must detecttargets at a distance of up to 180 km and conduct 125 units simultaneously. At the same time, the complex itself must provide simultaneous fire at six targets flying at altitudes from 60 m to 24 km at speeds of up to 2 thousand m per second.
The first tests of the radar passed in the laboratorycontrolled conditions. During testing, the specialists of the complex set up the sensors for receiving and transmitting information, and also checked their work by simulating various goals.
