Realme has been making a base model for yearsThe new number sequence is not better than the previous ones, but more accessible. This fall, the trend was especially clearly continued by Realme 10, which abandoned the width, and instead of the 108-megapixel HM6 sensor, the tiny JN1 with a resolution of 50 megapixels was appointed as the main camera. The fingerprint scanner from under the screen returned to the end, and Helio became the chipset again - however, this time the latest G99. But at the time of writing the review, you can buy it from just 15,990 rubles, although the predecessor costs 22,990 rubles. Is it worth it to take a closer look at such a strange novelty?

    Equipment and design

Realme 10 bundle maxstandard: SIM needle, documentation, USB cable, 33W charger, silicone case. It is darkened, which means that it retains its presentation longer. And overall the set is good. There are two colors in nature - light and dark. Both with very interesting color tints, so one or two words cannot describe. This must be seen.

No, I'm serious.Realme 10 is a must see, it is a very beautiful smartphone. And, moreover, very ergonomic - the brand remains faithful to the relatively small 6.4″ displays, which makes its smartphones more convenient than many competitors. And even the flat ends shouldn’t bother you - they are made wisely, cut off at the edges, so they don’t cut your hand and provide a good grip. Well, in the case you won’t even understand that the ends are not completely round.

The arrangement of elements on the body is standard:bottom audio jack, microphone, USB-C port and speaker; on the right is the power button with a fingerprint sensor and the volume rocker; on top of the second microphone; on the left is a triple tray. As you can see, the ports and slots are also in full order here; it’s nice that they don’t follow the trends and don’t cut out everything in a row. The fingerprint scanner is very fast, but the software simplifies the process of entering a fingerprint too much (it asks for few samples), so it's better to go through it twice.

Realme 10 AMOLED display has a frequency of 90 Hzand a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels. The matrix is not bad, the brightness is sufficient, the contrast is high. But the implementation of hertz is mediocre: in the auto-select mode, almost all applications open at 60 Hz, and even if forced 90 Hz is turned on, games open at 60 Hz. Touch always threshes at 180 Hz, for which he thanks.

Now let's talk about the non-visual component.Tactilely, you will feel a completely plastic case, and if the ends are matte, then the back imitates glass and perfectly collects fingerprints. If the phone tries to reach you, it will do it not like this: “knock-knock” - but like this: “vzhzh vzhzh”. Because there is no linear vibration motor, only the usual one. There is no stereo sound either, music plays only from the lower speaker.

    Software

Realme 10 runs on Android 12 with proprietaryshell Realme UI 3.0. Excellent firmware with wide functionality, nice appearance and good optimization. It doesn’t blunt, it doesn’t buggy, it can’t stand brains. In general, I could not find any significant negative points in the smartphone software.

      Cameras

The main downgrade of Realme 10 was the cameras.Starting with Realme 5, the younger models of the number series were equipped with an advanced main camera, a relatively simple width and one or two plugs for macro or bokeh. In the same model, there was a rollback to the level of Realme 3: the main camera plus a stub. True, the main camera has evolved from 13 MP (sensor diagonal 5.6 mm) to 50 MP sensor Samsung JN1 (sensor diagonal 6.3 mm). The plug can use different sensors (OV02B or SC201CS), but it doesn't matter - anyway, it's not even a macro camera, but just a depth sensor, which you still can't take pictures with. And here is how the main camera shoots in this smartphone:

This can be written into good JN1 implementations.Daytime shots look nice; there is a small sharping, but I can’t say that they went too far with it. Detail is good, there is not too much noise. At night, the phone shoots with a long shutter speed, but in the absence of OIS, this periodically leads to blurring. Therefore, I advise you to always take 2-3 shots - in all at once he definitely won’t screw up. Sometimes auto-HDR will not activate, but usually works correctly.

The front camera is nothing specialjust a 16-megapixel module with an OV16A sensor. It shoots well, but the problem with night lubrication extends to him. Video on both cameras can be recorded at 1080p@30fps. Without stabilization, even electronic, so you can guess the result yourself. There is constant autofocus, but not very fast.

      Performance and tests

Realme 10 Hardware Based MediaTek ChipsetHelio G99. The coolest MTK 4G chip, made using a 6nm process technology, was released quite recently, but has already managed to prove itself well. There are three memory options, and they are quite different from each other: 4 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB ROM. Given the triple tray, it is probably not necessary to overpay for the older version; but 8 GB of RAM is much better than 4 GB in the future.

      auto - auto - productive - productive

The gaming capabilities of the smartphone are good.In Genshin Impact, without much suffering, you can play even at maximum settings, but you will only get constantly high fps at medium settings. In other more demanding games, you may also need to reduce the graphics for comfort, and in less advanced ones, for example, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, everything will be fine even with maximum parameters. In general, playing on Realme 10 is not a problem at all.

The capacity of the battery built into Realme 10 isis 5000 mAh. In combination with an AMOLED screen with not the highest hertz and an energy-efficient processor, this is strength: in an hour of showing a video, the smartphone was discharged by 5%, in an hour of browsing (Wikipedia with an autoclicker) - by 9%, in an hour in SuperTuxKart - by 9%. In general, for six hours of tests, the discharge was 56%, and all this time the phone worked at maximum brightness. And even in such conditions, he was preparing to give out more than 10 hours of screen! With normal use, you can expect even more, and you will have to recharge the smartphone no more than once every 2-3 days. And even a couple of times a week is enough.

Complete charging does not strike with high power- "only" 33 watts. But she does her job well: a full charge from zero to 100% takes 1 hour and 15 minutes. Half the smartphone charges in just half an hour, and gains 90% in an hour. Considering the energy efficiency level of the device, the scenario of “charging for a work day while you have breakfast and get dressed” on Realme 10 is more than feasible.

        Conclusions

Realme 10 is a rather strange smartphone. On the one hand, if you compare it with Realme 8 and Realme 9, there will be a clear downgrade, which causes very logical skepticism. On the other hand, Realme 10 has many strengths - design, software, excellent screen, autonomy, fast charging. And the camera is not so bad, although you can’t compensate for the lack of width. So for 16-18 thousand rubles - quite a reasonable offer. Especially if the photo part is not a priority for you, but ergonomics is an important parameter.

        Best prices for Realme!
