The Redmi line is not about some uniquefeatures or exceptional design. It's always about "workhorses" that offer everything you need for little money. We are used to hearing this primarily about the brand's smartphones, but recently a laptop has appeared in Russia, compiled according to the same patterns. This is RedmiBook 15, which can be purchased at retail from 39,990 rubles. Let's get to know him better!

    Equipment and design 

    The RedmiBook 15 package includes, in addition to thelaptop, includes 65W charging with “brick” in the middle and a proprietary AC plug, as well as a user manual. Nothing more, but this is a standard set. The only color available is grey. The body is plastic, although at first glance it looks metal. There is a Redmi logo in a rather strange place on the lid, but this is the only thing that dilutes the extremely boring and utilitarian design of the device.

    Keyboard RedmiBook 15 - membrane,The layout of the keys is as standard as possible, you won't have to get used to it. There is no numpad, although there seems to be enough space for it on the case. It seems to me that part of the audience - editors who use alt-codes and accustomed to counting money with one right accountants - will turn away from a laptop. The shutdown button is not placed outside the main keyboard, which sometimes causes accidental pressing. It would be better if it was taken out and integrated with a fingerprint scanner, but there is no fingerprint scanner. And even better - they would add a backlight, otherwise it would be sad without it.

    To the left of the keyboard you can see a roundAC connector for laptop charging, Kensington lock, two USB 3.2 ports and one HDMI 1.4 connector; on the right is an Ethernet port, one USB 2.0 port, an SD memory card slot (full size!) and a 3.5mm headphone and microphone jack. Concerned about the convenience of a few fans of Kensington Lock, the company managed not to build in a single USB Type-C connector, which, it seems to me, is relevant for a much larger number of users. A pair of 2W speakers are responsible for sound output.

    RedmiBook 15 screen, as the name suggestslaptop, has a diagonal of 15.6″. Resolution is standard for a budget laptop 1920x1080 pixels. The panel is made using TN technology. Actually: contrast ratio 500:1, viewing angle 90 degrees horizontally, color gamut 45% NTSC. The frames around the screen are quite thick, so even without any gags there is a 1-megapixel webcam and microphones on top.

    Software 

    RedmiBook 15 comes preloaded withWindows 11. Surprisingly, we did not come across a single pre-installed branded application. If we searched well enough, this means that we have a very rare example of a laptop without built-in garbage. Praise!

      Performance and tests 

      The RedmiBook 15 comes with two differentchoice of 11th generation Intel Core processors. The younger model that came to our test is based on the i3-1115G4 (3 GHz, 2 cores, 4 threads, 6 MB cache, Intel Iris UHD graphics at 1.25 GHz), the older one is based on the i5-11320H (4, 5 GHz, 4 cores, 8 threads, 8 MB cache, Intel Iris Xe graphics at 1.35 GHz). The Core-i3 model is equipped with a 256 GB solid-state drive, the Core-i5 model is equipped with a 512 GB drive. But the amount of RAM is the same: 8 GB (DDR4, 3200 MHz).

      Вы можете, наверное, подумать, что 8 ГБ ОЗУ в старшей модели – это никакая не проблема, ведь если вам почему-то понадобится больше, то можно поставить дополнительную плашку. Но… нельзя. Мы разобрали ноутбук и обнаружили, что оперативная память распаяна на плате, и ничего вы с ней не сделаете. Но это было единственное неприятное открытие, а остальные были приятные. Например, достаточное для такой начинки медное охлаждение, дополненное кулером. Хотя, будем честны, о существовании кулера мы догадались и до разборки 🙂

      Хорошее охлаждение позволяет пользоваться RedmiBook 15 на коленочках, не ошпаривая их и не причиняя вред ноутбуку. И даже в игры можно поиграть – при разрешении 1920х1080 и низких настройках графики в популярной шутер-игре средний фреймрейт составил 55 fps с просадками до 25 fps. Не каждому будет комфортно играть с такими параметрами, я думаю. В популярной игре в жанре MOBA ситуация получше, на тех же самых низких настройках игровой процесс чуточку стабильнее.

      Из беспроводных протоколов в RedmiBook 15 поддерживаются Bluetooth 5 и Wi-Fi 5. Шестой Wi-Fi не поддерживается, но это было бы и удивительным для бюджетного ноутбука.

      Встроенный аккумулятор RedmiBook 15 имеет ёмкость 46 Вт*ч. Мы тестировали ноутбук в режиме показа видео с YouTube с яркостью 60%, Wi-Fi-подключением к интернету и Bluetooth-наушникам, и он продержался 6 часов 40 минут. Комплектное зарядное устройство мощностью 65 Вт позволяет полностью зарядить устройство меньше чем за два часа.

        Conclusions 

        RedmiBook 15 – приятный ноутбук с хорошим временем автономной работы и чистой, шустро работающей Windows 11. За исключением подсветки клавиатуры и, может быть, нумпада, в нём есть всё, что нужно для офисной работы. И даже в игры при большом желании можно поиграть, особенно на старшей модели. За свои деньги (на момент написания обзора это 39 990 рублей за i3-версию и 49 990 рублей за i5-версию) – можно рассмотреть. Хотя, конечно, скидочка не помешала бы, так как сегмент этот весьма конкурентный и у ряда оппонентов и корпус из металла есть, и сканер пальца предусмотрен, и экран не TN.
