WHO experts analyzed data on treatmentmore than 11 thousand infected patients and found that these drugs do not reduce the risk of death from coronavirus, and also do not affect the reduction in the number of patients on ventilators.
The study used treatment data from 11,266 hospitalized patients. The work has not yet been reviewed.
Note that the Russian Ministry of Health previously included remdesivir in clinical practice and recommendations for the treatment of infection.
Previously American pharmaceutical campaignGilead Sciences claimed that the use of its drug remdesivir in patients with coronavirus shortens the recovery period to four days. The USA, Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Israel, the UK and Russia have approved the use of remdesivir to treat those infected with coronavirus. The drug was originally created as part of testing for the treatment of hepatitis C and respiratory syncytial virus. It has also been tested to treat Ebola, but has not been found to be effective.
