Research: AMD processors have become even more popular, and interest in Intel has fallen

A group of analysts from Mercury Research presented a new report, which shows the popularity of AMD processors in

desktop, server and mobile segments of the market continues to grow.

Thus, in the second quarter of 2022, the company increasedits market share to 29.2%. For comparison, last year it had only 22.5%. The most noticeable growth was in the laptop processor segment - here Ryzen models increased their presence from 20% to 24.8%.

At the same time, Intel, on the contrary, sank - it got "only" 70.8% of the market.

The rise in popularity of AMD can also be seen in the desktop segment. Here, the company pulled up the figures to 20.6%, which is 3.5% more than in 2021.

According to experts, the growing popularity of the “Reds” will continue in the third quarter of 2022.
