Research: no modern smartphone protects user data 100%

Cryptography researchers from Johns Hopkins University analyzed both Android and iOS smartphones.

They found that not a single modern smartphonedoes not protect user data 100%. Law enforcement agencies and governments can already access locked smartphones using a variety of tools. This is mainly due to weaknesses in operating systems.

Johns Hopkins University researcherMatthew Green said the results of the study shocked him. “Nothing is as secure as it could be,” he said.

Even though smartphones havedifferent levels of protection, they are vulnerable to data extraction. The main thing is that the attacker has the necessary tools. Such government tools can easily be purchased for law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
