Researchers at the Hebrew University inJerusalem (HUJ) suggested that people can often behave in accordance with social labels and expectations associated with their name. This is reflected in their appearance, which allows others to guess the names.

In the experiment, subjects were given a photographperson and several variants of the name. Participants picked the correct name almost 40% of the time, far exceeding the 25% chance of a correct random guess.
