Researchers have discovered a young black hole outside our galaxy

The Very Large Telescope in the Atacama Desert helped scientists at the European Southern Observatory discover a young

black hole in the Large Magellanic Cloud.

The object is located in the NGC 1850 cluster, which in turn is located approximately 160,000 light years away. The discovered black hole is eleven times larger than the Sun.

For the search, the scientists used a dynamic method. It involves recording the effect that a black hole has on nearby stars.

Astronomers have previously found such black holes inother galaxies, capturing X-rays or gravitational waves that occur when black holes collide with each other or with neutron stars. But usually the dynamic method is used for searching. In the future, he is supposed to help scientists learn more about the origin of young black holes.
