Even after the start of sales of Ryzen 7000, desktop processors of the previous 5000 series did not turn into pumpkins at all
AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
Self-contained processor for building an entry-level gaming PC
A processor with a large, even by modern standards, the number of physical cores and virtual threads - 6/12. An integrated graphics card is similar in performance to a discrete price of half that processor. A bonus is a small, but surprisingly quiet, at least under office load, cooler.

5 reasons to buy AMD Ryzen 5 5600G:
- 6 cores and 12 threads of fast Zen 3 architecture.
- Integrated Radeon Vega 7 gaming graphics card.
- support for hardware video editing and streaming.
- moderate power consumption and processor heating.
- low price AM4 motherboard and DDR4 memory.
2 reasons not to buy AMD Ryzen 5 5600G:
- you need even more processor cores and don't need an iGPU.
- you want to build a PC for growth with the new DDR5 memory.

How is it different from other Ryzen?
Ryzen 5 occupies AMD processor lineupThe 5600G is an intermediate place between the 5500 and 5600. The first, the Ryzen 5 5500, is slightly cheaper, lacks integrated graphics, but completely repeats the 5600G in terms of the processor part. The second, the Ryzen 5 5600, is a little more expensive, also without an iGPU, but with support for a fast PCIe 4.0 bus and a large 32 MB cache. However, the 5600G has something to say: although the cache size is smaller, it is faster - dual-channel 8+8 MB.
In addition, the 5600G is colder than the 5600, which is whytwo. Less aggressive Precision Boost automatic overclocking algorithm: the processor does not try to squeeze out an extra hundred megahertz by excessively increasing the voltage. And a single-chip, not a chiplet structure - heat is transferred more evenly to the processor cover, and from it to the cooler base. Heat dissipation is declared 65 W, and it can be lowered in the BIOS settings to 45 W. There are two energy-efficient modes to choose from: with priority on processor cores or on integrated graphics.

What is the built-in vidyuha capable of?
The video card deserves a separate story, integrated into the Ryzen 5 5600G - Radeon Vega 7. This is the last fifth iteration of the GCN architecture, and the number of graphics microcore clusters is seven (and that is 448 microcores). In the older and more expensive 5700G processor, there are eight integrated graphics clusters, while the old Ryzen 5 2400G and 3400G have eleven in general. That's just the frequency of their graphics is a third lower. It turns out that Vega 7 is almost the most powerful built-in, and in terms of the cost of the processor, it is definitely the most profitable.
FidelityFX Super smart upscaling supportedResolution 2.1, which allows you to increase the frame rate by reducing the resolution of textures and then smoothing them. If the game is old and the developers were too lazy to add FSR to it after the release, you can use the alternative Radeon Image Sharpening technology. It produces a slightly less clear picture, but it works at the driver level on top of any game. Fans of eSports games like CSGO and Dota 2, which are the main focus of iGPUs, will definitely appreciate Radeon Anti-Lag technology, which reduces input lag.

What kind of motherboard and memory do you need?
For testing, the Ryzen 5 5600G was simulatedbudget PC configuration that the average buyer is likely to assemble. Stocks of B450 motherboards are gradually running out, so we chose the A520 chipset. It does not support overclocking of processor cores and iGPUs (with a compact boxed cooler, overclocking would still not work), but it overclocks RAM perfectly. And more likely to be able to run the 5600G out of the box, as they say, without having to update the BIOS firmware on the previous generation processor.
Two budget RAM modules with a frequency of 3200MHz without problems overclocked to 3600 MHz, albeit only with CL26 auto-timings. For the integrated Radeon Vega 7 graphics card, high RAM frequency is much more important than low timings (latencies). Moreover, this is precisely the limitation of budget memory modules, the processor itself can overclock the RAM up to 4266 MHz. The main thing is that there should be a pair of memory modules to activate the 64 + 64-bit dual-channel mode. By the way, iGPU is used not only for games, but also for smooth video playback with VP9 codecs (used on YouTube), H264 and H265. And also for streaming and editing the last two.

What are the results in benchmarks?
Smart Precision Boost algorithm focuses onprocessor temperature. When the mark of 90 degrees Celsius is exceeded, auto-acceleration slows down a hundred or two megahertz. But even so, the processor is boosted above 4 GHz on all cores. Thanks to the progressive Zen 3 architecture, the Ryzen 5 5600G achieves over 600 points in the single-threaded CPU-Z benchmark. A couple of years ago, 500 points was considered a good result. However, Ryzen 7000 with Zen 4 architecture scores 700+ points, but at a significantly higher TDP.
In terms of performance, power consumption and heat dissipation, Zen 3 turned out to be very successful. When loaded only on processor cores, without iGPU, the processor fits into a moderate 40 watts. This is the level of processors of previous generations with 4 cores and 8 threads, while the 5600G already has a configuration of 6-12. Integrated graphics draw about 25 more watts, which is comparable to the discrete GeForce GT 1030, which costs more than half the price of the processor. And if in old games on the DirectX 11 engine there is parity between integration and discrete, then in new ones on DX12 and especially Vulkan, Vega 7 wins with a 30% margin.
